Filled Under: Calgary
Flames Central is right downtown Calgary and is owned by the Flames themseves. If you are a sports fan or especially a Flames fan this place is a must see, it’s awsome!!! Three floors, multiple rooms and bars it’s quite the sight. Not bad drink prices as well considering where you are at, it’s actually cheaper than some of the other places around them. The only complaint I had was it is so big it takes a ton of people to fill it up but that’s no problem on a Flames game night.
The Unicorn Pub is right downtown Calgary on 8th Avenue. It is apparently the original and oldest pub in Calgary so it has alot of heritage. It’s busy at lunch time and after work and on most days and there is a good mix of people young and old in the crowd. They have fairly good food and a big selection of beer but I find them to be a little expensive for what you get ($ 6.25) for a beer, but they do have decent specials consisting mostly of micro beer. That being said you are right downtown so it is to be expected. All in all a fun place after work for a drink.
The company owns a group of pubs but Dixon’s is the best one in my opinion. They have really good specials and a great breakfast. The pub has a sort of nautical theme to it which is very inviting it makes you feel welcome. Tuesdays are the best deals but Sunday’s are my favorite time to go because of the great breakfast.
